I’m not sure any of my Blogging Buds are still checking in, or is the world of words down to a mere 140 characters!
Lots has been happening in Airman Mom’s life. So much goodness and so many stressful situations. But, such is life!
So.... please say Hello if you happen upon my words. (I really need to return to writing.)
Proverbs 3:5-6Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10433907044785046226noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8954521743936057225.post-59291241484803590072016-02-01T11:07:00.000-05:002016-02-01T12:16:41.426-05:002.1.1981This date lives in my heart every single day.
I was a very young momma with a healthy, busy two year old and a fussy, didn't-know-night-from-day-yet seven month old.
This momma had a new little one on the way...
Until 2.1.1981
I was thirteen weeks along in my pregnancy. I believe God whispers gently in our ears, and He whispered that I was carrying a son.
Until 2.1.1981
A routine check-up brought concern about my little one. An ultrasound was done. My baby's heart had stopped beating.
I was sent home, to await oncoming labor.
Until 2.1.1981
Labor came... Every bit as intense as when I gave birth to my two beautiful, healthy girls.
I remember leaving for the hospital after 'Sixty Minutes'
I remember the Emergency Room.
I remember the Operating Room's cold table.
I remember my doctor sitting by my bed, holding my hand while I cried...until drug-induced sleep came.
My little one was gone from this earth.
2.1.1981
It's been thirty-five years...
God sent me two more sons. Gifts I cherish.
My four children and my baby who has only known heaven as home... Complete my heart.
I'm blessed beyond words...
Nine amazing grandbabies have entered my world as well...
Since 2.1.1981
God is good.
He has had held my little one in His loving arms.
I think about you always,
I talk about you still,
You have never been forgotten,
and you never will.
I hold you close within my heart,
and there you will remain,
To walk with me throughout my life
Until we meet again.

Commencing countdown, engines on
Check ignition and may God’s love be with you'
Not quite sure why I chose this song as my, 'I'm Back' intro...
Hard to believe it's been almost two years since I last posted!
Kinda like David Bowie's astronaut, things got a little bit turned upside down and a break from the blogosphere was needed.
Things? Life.
I'll unwrap details going forward, but for now I'll offer a quick recap of Airman Mom's life.
John returned safe and whole from deployment! Praise God! He is now stationed here in the DC area...needless to say, I am one blessed momma! So grateful to have my son and his son within an hours' drive. I'm also enjoying the time with my D-I-L! Love this sweet family!
B & V have added to our family! Grand baby #8 is a beautiful girl, named AnnaB. She was born last September, healthy and perfect! Hubster and I have been to SLC twice to spend time with this precious family! Honestly, there is nothing like seeing your child holding their child!
My girls and their families are doing well! Hubster and I have been visiting new baseball stadiums every year...slowly checking off our Bucket List!
So there you have it in a nutshell... All the good stuff of the past couple years!

Please join me in prayer for all those touched by the most recent tragedy at Fort Hood.

Please continue to keep John, Di and the little E-Man in your prayers.
John will be ending his six-month deployment very soon!!!
Upon his return home, this sweet family has many adjustments...
I know in my heart, they will overcome the challenges which post-deployment brings.
This Momma is praying he returns through BWI... It will be so awesome to see John's
face and give him a hug!
May Almighty God keep peace in their hearts, as they endure these final weeks of deployment.
May Almighty God watch over John as he travels back to U.S. soil.
May Almighty God wrap this young family in his loving arms, as they settle into their new family life.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10433907044785046226noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8954521743936057225.post-28013301599051310862012-04-09T06:35:00.000-04:002012-04-09T06:35:00.066-04:00Luke's WingsPlease allow me to introduce an organization which helps the families of our wounded Warriors.
Luke's Wings reunites our wounded with their families, helping with expensive travel costs.
Here is the first paragraph of their Mission Statement: Luke's Wings is an organization dedicated to the support of service members who have been wounded in battle. Recognizing the immediate need for families to be with their loved ones at such a difficult time, Luke’s Wings provides families with the means to visit during the service member’s hospitalization and rehabilitation. By purchasing travel agency services and travel tickets for loved ones, Luke’s Wings provides an immediate and invaluable service to the families of our men and women at arms while also helping to encourage and motivate the service member’s recovery.
Please visit their site to learn more about their dedication to our wounded.
Please lift these brave Warriors and their families in prayer.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10433907044785046226noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8954521743936057225.post-56257611292452421792012-04-08T08:51:00.001-04:002012-04-08T08:51:00.876-04:00Happy EasterHe is Risen!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10433907044785046226noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8954521743936057225.post-45976212043848828992012-04-07T21:41:00.000-04:002012-04-07T21:41:58.914-04:00MilBlog Nominations April 9thThe 2012 MilBlog Conference will take place on May 11-12.

Honestly, The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Vietnam Memorial are two places which respect and silence are a must. I've walked The Wall countless times and have offered my own "Shhhhh" when I hear voices louder than needed... unless of course they are Vets. The Wall belongs to them...

But as far as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, "It is requested that everyone maintains a level of silence and respect".
Enough said.

(please pause my Playlist on the right sidebar)
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10433907044785046226noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8954521743936057225.post-81745148137941391282012-03-21T06:35:00.003-04:002012-03-21T06:59:29.292-04:00Wednesday Hero 03/21/2012This Weeks Post Was Suggested By Michael

If you are veteran and meet served per the dates listed you may qualify.

Subject: DD 214 Increased Social Security Benefits For Vets

DD FORM 214 -- EXTRA SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFIT for those with active duty between
January 1957 to December 31, 2001. See the web site & notes below to possibly increase your Social Security Benefits.

DD FORM 214 -- SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFIT Please share this with anyone who had
active duty service between January 1957 to December 31, 2001, and planning for retirement. In a nutshell it boils down to this:

You qualify for a higher social security payment because of your Military
service, for active duty any time from 1957 through 2001 (the program was done
away with 1 January 2002). Up to $1200 per year of earnings credit credited at
time of application - which can make a substantial difference in social security
monthly payments upon your retirement. You must bring your DD-214 to the Social
Security Office and you must ask for this benefit to receive it!
Soc Sec website: Click Here This is something to put in your files for when you apply for Social Security
down the road.. It is NOT just for retirees, BUT anyone who has served on active
duty between January 1957 to December 31, 2001.
FYI - this benefit is not automatic, you must ask for it! We've all been on
active duty between 1957 and 2001 or know someone who has.
Passing on good information for all you military folks when you apply for social
security. I know this may be too early for some of you to think about social
security but, keep living and you will get there.
Regional Resource Coordinator
Maryland's Commitment to Veterans Project State of Maryland- Southern Region
Human Services Partnership Building La Plata, Maryland 20646

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Thank you, Jeanne for sharing this important information!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10433907044785046226noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8954521743936057225.post-38865445174915663192012-03-14T00:32:00.000-04:002012-03-14T00:32:00.052-04:00Wednesday Hero 03/14/2012
<img src="http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/909/majbrittreed.jpg" border="1" alt="Maj. Rather than an individual service member, or a group, Wednesday Hero is profiling an entire battalion. 1st Battalion, 9th Marines (1/9) aka "The Walking Dead". Activated on March 1, 1942, 1/9 has had a long and distinguished service history. Seeing deployments in WWII, Vietnam, Somalia and Iraq. During the Vietnam War they earned the nickname "The Walking Dead" because of their extremely high casualty rate. 1/9 was deactivated in September 1994 but were once again called back into service in 2005.
