I just found your blog through Poop and Boogies and just wanted to say that I am also a mom of an Airman (Reserve). Our son just finished Tech School the end of July so this is all fairly new to us. I have not yet had time to look at all of your blog but wanted to let you know that what I have seen so far looks informative and inspirational. I look forward to having time to look it all over. Thanks, Nanette
airmanmom, I just had the opportunity to read your blog from the beginning and was stunned to discover that our sons were at BMT at the same time. They both graduated on the same day. I could tell from your pictures that they were not in the same Flight but I still found it all ironic. My son was at Tech School at Sheppard in Wichita Falls, TX for 14 weeks. My youngest daughter's best friend was also at Keesler during some of the same time as your son. It is an amazingly small world. Nanette
nanette... amazing! were you at the airman's run? was that not a crazy emotional time...the build up, waiting for our airman to come over the hill... I still get chills thinking about it... I could NOT stand still waiting for them...and then I could not even recognize my son...but he saw me! I'm tearing up just thinking about it. I wish your son the best! Thanks for stopping by!

I love Ray Charles' version of America. I might say it is one of my favorites.
