USS George H.W. Bush
USS George H.W. Bush
U.S. Navy

Sailors assigned to the Air Department of the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) are silhouetted against the setting sun at the conclusion of flight operations. George H.W. is underway in the Atlantic Ocean conducting flight deck certifications.

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.
We Should Not Only Mourn These Men And Women Who Died, We Should Also Thank God That Such People Lived

I could not contain my tears when they christened that ship, I watched every minute of the ceremony. Oh well, I am just an old softie.......

A great ship! The Navy has men and women at sea 24-7-365 to keep us safe. On a six to nine month deployment there are so many life stories going on. Back home babies are born, spouses file for divorce, kids graduate schools, ballgames are played, dances and proms are attended and home repairs and bills are paid while the sailors are working exhausting hours keeping planes maintained and flying, aircraft launches and retrievals, ship maintenance, radio, radar and sonar equipment are manned. Sailors get sick, have surgeries, breakdowns, and serve with all that stuff going on back home. As much a hero these guys and gals are, there are heroes at home, too. Lonesome wives, husband and kids; parents thinking about their kids at sea and on shore stations around the world. Not many sailors ever have to face enemy fire, but they are heroes non-the-less. Go USS Bush (CVN 77) and make us proud. (btw, the CVN stands for C = Carrier, V = All Weather and N = Nuclear.)
