A Gold Star Mom-A Soldiers Angel

Linda Ferrara gives Spc. Stephen Stout a blanket at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany on Thursday. Ferrara’s son, Capt. Matthew Ferrara, was killed in Afghanistan in 2007; her trip to Landstuhl, sponsored by the Soldiers' Angels organization, came about after the theft of goods she collected for troops led to a flood of donations. How could anyone steal those goods?! She is doing a wonderful job.
You have a beautiful song plaing in the background ~ "Letters From War". I have a lump in my throat!
Wishing you and your family all the very best for 2009.
Much Love,

Hi AirmanMom! This is MaryAnn from SA in Germany. I just wanted to stop by and thank you for posting Linda's story! I brought her to the airport this morning after a wonderful week here and miss her already.

MightyMom, yes, I know QoV! They send lots of absolutely beautiful quilts over for the patients here. If you are one of those quilters, thank you very much!

Oh, and the music I got was Toby Keith's American Soldier :-)

Love from Germany,
MaryAnn

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I haven't done much in the original department for a while. Nice to meet you. Please give my thanks to your son.
Thanks for the update on this story too. I was pretty upset when I heard of the theft of these special items. I am happy to hear there was a bit of a happy ending to this sad story.
Take care :) Gail
