Warm Prayer For A Cold Place

A soldier with the US Army 6-4 Cavalry looks at Combat Outpost Lowell after an overnight snowfall in eastern Afghanistan.

Lord and Holy Protector,
you called Abraham and Sarah to leave their homeland
and to journey away from their own people.

Yet you kept them safe wherever they went.

Protect our children, our husbands and wives,
our mothers and fathers, and our friends and loved ones
who now must leave to fight in this war.

Walk by their side and calm any fear.

Be their companion and guide their thoughts;
Encircle them with your light, and keep them from harm;
And when their service is ended, lead them safely home again.

For you, O God, are our shelter in every storm
and our refuge in times of danger.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen

(Diocese of San Jose)

I'm sending this picture to Jacob just so he knows what he may be getting into. Brrrrr. Hope you Airman is enjoying Ohio weather. We just got our first sort of real snowfall this weekend. But it's always warmer @ Wright-Patt. Has something to do with all those jets taking of and landing I think. Thanks for stopping by the blog.

And I say...Amen! And that is for the troops of both the US and Canada. I pray they will all come home safely.

Now I see I have catching up to do.

Blessings for all you do for our troops.
