I realize we are in the midst of a horrific event taking place in the Gulf.
My heart is heavy for the families who are facing the loss of family businesses, it is difficult to see the oil covered birds and know that fish are dying.
But, God help me....we lost thirty American soldiers in Afghanistan so far this month.
Our news is saturated with the events of the oil spill....have we forgotten we are still at war?
Have we forgotten that we have Service Men and Women serving in a country far from home?
Will somebody please give me 5 minutes on the CBS Evening News to remind America our Nation is still at war? 5 Frickin' minutes...please!
C'mon, Folks....I'm a Blessed Mom! My sons are both Stateside...for now!
I just need to know.....does anybody care?

don't get your hopes up too high mom.
and they are all my sons' ages! the oil spill story is sucking all the news away from Afghanistan. If General Petraus did not faint during the hearing, Afghanistan would not be in the news at all.
I care, I have friends in the wars now and more going soon.
Our military is at war, our nation is at the mall. Phooey!
frustrating-isn't it-Grrrrrr

I'm there with you AM - it makes me so sad...a good friend's husband was seriously injured last week, he's still touch and go. We know others who have lost friends.
Our family hasn't forgotten the men and women who serve...
Here's a little more fuel for your fire: when I took tour groups to the U.S. Capitol last week, there was a protest going on in front of the west side of the building. Huge signs on the Capitol lawn protesting (get ready for it)...CIRCUMCISION! Like there aren't enough REAL concerns in our country right now!?! The war...the oil crisis...health care...and more...and these people are worried about something that isn't a law and is a personal decision? GET REAL!!
