Talking Tuesday

Happy September!

Autumn is coming!!! My favorite time of year. Those 'THEY' people who say so much about everything; have stated those who are born during the Fall Season, enjoy that season most. Interesting. I have yet to Snopes or Google this tidbit of information, but I'll believe it...why not?

Honestly, I have no idea where July and August went! These past two months have simply evaporated. September will be yet another busy month. Between the upcoming arrival of my newest grandgirl, several birthdays to celebrate and work getting busy... It would be nice for time to slow down, just for a little while.

Which brings us to our Talking Tuesday.....

Back in the early 80's, the J. Geils Band sang a song, 'Freeze Frame'. By no means was it the greatest song ever written..but when I think of a moment stopping in time, a snapshot of a moment...this song gets stuck in my head. Like last Autumn when Hubster and I took a Foliage train ride through the mountains of Western Maryland and another Freeze Frame of enjoying the Shenandoah Valley Hot Air Balloon, Wine and Music Festival .(definitely going back this year)

What's your finest September 'Freeze Frame' moment?

Your turn...............................

(On a side note, I apologize for any inconvenience or loss of mind which may have resulted from my invisible post yesterday. I chose to revise, after posting. Perhaps on a new day, I will pull together those deleted thoughts and write a fresh post)

(On a second side note, I chose this topic due to the sad news of the record number of Fallen Soldiers in the month of August. I have a feeling, September may well surpass July and August. Knowing I must publish upcoming "Blue to Gold" posts, I felt the need to begin the month in a light-hearted fashion)

yikes.

ummm. fall moments...Halloween before last hearing Sonshine chatter and actually being able to follow his train of thought!...I'll find the link and leave it so you'll know what I'm talking about. It was one of the times I've dared to hope his autism might NOT keep him from communicating after all.

August is an very hot month here in OK, but two years ago my husband was sent to Calgary, Canada for the end of August and most of Sept. I went with him. What a beautiful place. We spent a weekend hiking around Banff - you can go to Sept of 07 on my blog to see lots of photos, but here is a few of the best: http://bagwag.blogspot.com/2007/09/more-banff-weekend.html

Living in a small town, going to high school football games and watching the crowd get into the action. Past few years the only thing the hometown faithful could be enthusiastic about has been the halftime show(which I announce). Hopefully this year things will be different.

But the community involvement gives me my freeze frame.

Getting off the bus and walking through the gates of the US Naval Training Center, San Diego, CA, in Sept. 1962, three weeks before my 18th birthday. My life was drastically changed the moment my foot hit the pavement (before my other foot had left the bus) and there was this due in my face yelling at me and telling me to move it. He was standing in front of me and close enough to kiss, so I told him to get out of the F*** way and I would. The next thing I new I was on my face with a boot in the back of my neck and him saying that if I ever spoke another word to him with being asked, this was the way I would be buried. He never got a Christmas card from me. Ever!

74...I do get the small town, Poolesville had a population of just over 2,000 when I moved here. Our HS football games and our Poolesville Day are the highlight of every year. Love it!
